Clothes don't live on the floor!

It's week 7 of my domestic dummy makeover and although, I can't claim to be a completely changed person, things are getting better.

I am doing well with the towels, the beds and the dishwasher and let's say "making progress" with the others.

The simple habit I am going to adopt this week is putting my clothes away!

I know this sounds so basic but it is something I personally struggle with.  I am fine at putting the genuinely dirty clothes in the laundry basket but the "could wear again" clothes really cause me problems!

I don't like putting them back in the wardrobe as I am paranoid about moths, which along with property prices, lack of school places and hard water are the bain of London life! (Why do they always eat your nice stuff and never the ancient jumper you were ready to throw out?)

In complete indecision about what to do with them I leave the clothes on the end of the bed. With the next night's and the next night's and the next night's until there's a great messy pile of them! And they're all scrumpled up!  And then they can't be worn anyway so once a week they get scooped up with the washing, which means more laundry! Grrrr ...

So I've cleared out from behind the door the umpteen dressing gowns I don't wear, an old anorak waiting to go to the charity shop and some very pretty but completely enormous coat hangers that don't fit it in my wardrobe.

I've put 5 cardigan and trouser-skirt hangers on the hooks at the back of the door and I will try very hard to hang things up so that I can actually wear them again.  It can't be that hard can it?

Whether you're a domestic goddess or a beginner like me you'll find lots of great ideas for making the housework easier on my pin board ...
