Our little snowflakes may not be a patch on the beautifully fancy ones I've been admiring on
Pinterest but we had an awful lot of fun making them and littl'un - an almost three year old - really enjoyed joining in. We made them out of very basic fairy cake papers and littl'un sat on my knee to help with the cutting - the folds in the cake papers seemed to give the snowflakes more structure. She then painted them with ordinary white poster paint and liberally sprinkled them with glitter. I was all for keeping to silver but littl'un is a bit more baroque in her tastes :-)
We have to make one more special big snowflake for littl'un to put in her bedroom window before the snow comes just like Sam in

which we have been enjoying so much over the last week.
