Halloween Crafts

With Halloween only a few weeks away, we're all busy getting ready for our Halloween party.

This involves complex negotiations with my almost 4 year old daughter regarding decorations we're going to make in advance and some easy fun crafts we can make at the party itself.

Unfortunately, in a moment of utter insanity I introduced my daughter to Pinterest! Entranced by every Halloween craft she sees, she refuses to accept that mummy's time and crafting abilities are very limited.

Luckily, she has not yet mastered the mouse on my laptop so I confess to the occasional small fib when she yells in my year "Pin that! Have you pinned that?!" (Oh my Lord! What have I done?)

Mummy's personal view of the decorations is that they need to be simple and as almost everyone there will be under 6 not too scary. They also need to be things she can genuinely help with.

And the crafts at the party need to be super simple and not too structured so everyone can just enjoy themselves without the pressure of creating anything too fancy or perfect.

Weather allowing we will definitely try to make leaf spiders again as we had so much fun with them last year.

And I am loving all these ideas that were linked up at my Empty Your Archive party where the focus is fun things kids can actually make themselves with just a little bit of input from mum ...

P.S. For those of you who have been following our pumpkin saga ... another one grew only to be bitten off yet again by some party pooping creepy crawly in the garden who is determined that we will not grow pumpkins for Halloween.
