Last week it was the Christmas planning list to end all Christmas lists and this week I've been working on a Christmas timetable so that I can just do a few things each week and tick them off without going into a complete "aaargh there's just too much" meltdown!

I've tried to leave all the really fun stuff until December but still get as much done as possible before December 15th as that's when it really starts to fill up with all the stuff posing as Christmas "cheer" you've no control over!

I've written it up in this full Christmas timetable but vaguely it looks something like this:

OCTOBER:
  • Decide who’s going where, when & who’s doing what
  • Create menus, baking, shopping & freezer lists
  • Start present list & stocking filler list & my own wish list
  • Order anything scarce
  • Book travel tickets
  • Book supermarket delivery slots

NOVEMBER:
  • Book pantomime tickets & work out where seeing Santa
  • Buy Christmas stamps
  • Write card list & update addresses
  • Buy & make cards
  • Write cards & round robin
  • "Stir-up Sunday" - make puddings, cake, mincemeat
  • Order big, dull, international presents on-line

DECEMBER:
1st - 7th:
  • Post cards
  • Order meat & fish
  • Make Christmas decorations
  • Check tree lights & baubles and buy replacements
  • Baking for freezer
  • One completely lovely child-free Christmas shopping day for nice stuff!
8th - 14th
  • Buy Christmas tree, holly, mistletoe, door wreath.
  • Decorate house
  • Make presents for Grandparents
  • Wrap presents to post
  • Post parcels before 13th
  • Baking for freezer
  • Clear out cupboards & freezer
15th - 21st
  • Non-perishable food shopping
  • Make gift tags
  • Baking for freezer
22nd - 26th
  • Santa
  • Church carol service
  • Wrap remaining presents
  • Buy / collect perishable food.
  • Buy flowers
  • Do impression of whirling dervish!
  • Relax & enjoy!!!
  • Eat too much, drink more!
27th - 30th
  • Pantomime
  • Thank you cards
  • Eat more!!
