50 Wonderful Ways with Play Dough

Unknown // Thursday 16 May 2013

My mum is old school about play dough.

Based on long years as a play group leader, her advice to me is always that whatever else you do to it, make lots of it.

And when she says lots of dough, she means a 3lb bag of flour's worth!

I do think she's on to something.

A 31b wodge of plain, no frills, no cook dough kept 3 three year olds entertained for ages on Sunday without any squabbling over who had most dough.

Whilst quantity is important there are also so many wonderful, wonderful ways to enjoy play dough ...

... from different colours and smells, natural and otherwise ...

... to all sorts of different consistencies and textures ...

... that can be shaped, chopped & shredded with every utensil you have in your kitchen ...

... and can support an amazing range of imaginative fun and everything from fine motor skills to number and letter recognition and exploration of nature and science.

I've put together this list of 50 different ways in which you can enjoy play dough and all its many variations but I know there are so many other great ideas out there ... do feel free to add to the list and link back to your blog or a social media account.

You can also add all your play dough posts to the link up at the bottom of the post.
