Everything You Need to Know About Having a C-Section ...

Unknown // Monday 22 July 2013

Contrary to press scare stories, not many women have "give me a c-section" on their birth plan.

I certainly didn't have it on mine.

But increasingly a c-section is what a lot of us end up with.

There's definitely things that need to be done to reduce the trend ... more midwives and experienced birth partners rather than just scared dads would certainly help!

However, on many occasions it is without doubt the best thing for baby and mum.

The problems arise because most of us haven't had it as part of the "beautiful birth" experience we planned and therefore haven't got a clue about the consequences for us and our babies.

So this post is a quick reference list of everything that I learnt first hand about the consequences of a c-section plus advice from friends and fellow bloggers who've also been through one ... if you've got your own advice please do add it to the list.

If you're looking for birth story experiences from other mums do check out the links at the bottom of this post ... and feel free to add your own ... and if you're looking for more pregnancy and new baby advice do visit the Mommy Archive ....
