Christmas pine cones ...

We must have picked one of the soggiest afternoons of the year to go looking for pine cones to decorate for Christmas.  There were loads of them in the sandy woods near Grandma and Grandpa's house and we came away with an enormous bag of them but they are very small this year.  Maybe it was all that rain in the summer.

They're very wet so I think they're going to need a good week to dry out and then hopefully they will open out so we can spray them gold.  Even if they don't I think they will look sweet on the tree and in a big bowl.

Littl'un though that she might see Peter Rabbit and the Flopsy Bunnies in the sandy wood but they weren't about.  Maybe unlike us they were sensibly cuddled up at home.
