Planting Christmas bulbs ...

Unknown // Monday 12 November 2012

One of our Christmas present ideas as part of our plan for more frugal festivities this year is Christmas bulbs.  We bought daffodil, crocus and snowdrop bulbs which we planted at the weekend and we are then going to decorate paper mache pots to put them in.

The man in the garden centre recommended we put the bulbs outside for 2 weeks so they root properly and don't flower too early.  We've put them on the kitchen roof outside littl'un's window in the hope that squirrel doesn't get his paws on them!

My idea was to have separate pots of daffs, snowdrops etc but littl'un insisted that we had to mix them all up in each pot.  I'm not quite sure why it was necessary to get all patriotic and wave union flags over them but it was!
